What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. In giving reiki, the practitioner places his or her hands over, or lightly touches, the receiver’s fully clothed body.
The word “reiki” is made of two Japanese words, “Rei” meaning “spiritually guided” and “ki” which is “life force energy”. This energy is referred to as “ki” in Japan, “chi” in China, and “prana” in India. Reiki balances the whole person, including body, emotions, mind and spirit.
Reiki is not medical treatment and is not meant to take the place of any medical treatment. Reiki is meant to support medical procedures and practices. Reiki assists your body in healing itself and achieving a higher level of wellness.
